what thousand words does this image speak to you?

IMG_6146.JPG
IMG_6147.JPG
ME TOO!!!
IMG_6148.JPG
in case you're having that deflated feeling because one of the pan-ultimate holiday specials passed by unbeknownst to you (as opposed to me, whose deflation originates in the utter inability to get that opening title on digi), HEAVE A SIGH OF RELIEF! it's on again thanksgiving night at 8PM on ABC. of my three favorite parts in this schultz-slice-of-holiday-season-brilliance
IMG_6149.JPG
(when snoopy is preparing the feast in charlie brown's kitchen, when snoopy is fighting the lawn chair, and when snoopy is serving up the feast)
IMG_6150.JPG
two of them involve toast. you can extrapolate and derive your own summations from that at some later point in time. at your own leisure, as they might say.... for now just know that i saw this feast of toast, popcorn, pretzels and jelly beans as one to be coveted.
IMG_6151.JPG
the lesser known animated schultz special that followed was called
IMG_6158.JPG
as you might expect it was about the pilgrim experience on the mayflower,
IMG_6155.JPG
which did include discussion, albeit brief, of the unsanitary conditions, and an example of creative brilliance under stress....
IMG_6156.JPG
they covered what transpired in the ultimate first season of NEW WORLD; the mayflower house...
IMG_6157.JPG
.sorry, i couldn't resist. anywho, it was definately one of the better later-years-specials! schultz gave the natives alotta props
IMG_6161.JPG
here we see the gang going off to get fish, so they can plant the corn...
IMG_6154.JPG
however through the entire show, i couldn't quite let go of the fact that so many of the characters looked as though they had been school house rock players....

so, at the moment i don't remember how to make a link, but if you want the low-down for the next two weeks' worth of holiday viewing (to avoid those uglier moments of realizing something has passed you by), go check out the holiday listing at TV GUIDE http://www.tvguide.com/Special/Holiday-Guide-2008/calendar.aspx. i'll change that to a link as soon as i double check my html....until then, just copy and paste that sucker...

what a lucky day!

i've committed to buying only cage-free eggs over the past month. today, for the FIRST TIME IN MY ENTIRE LIFE OF FORTY YEARS

IMG_6120.JPG

i got a double yolk egg!

later on in the day, i looked up from loading the dishwasher to see this

IMG_6129a.jpg

yup! that's right, a woody-woodpecker, woodpecker
IMG_6127.JPG

he had to have been about 12-14 inches long. i've seen a few smaller woodpeckers at the dogpark, but i've never seen this kind before....and how suprised was i to see it in the backyard!!!
what a lucky day!

my new knitting buddies

connecticut pbs is now running back-to-back knitting/crochet shows on saturday mornings.

IMG_6113.JPG

there's KNIT AND CROCHET TODAY at 11:30am and KNITTING DAILY at noon. how stoked is it that one of my lys is supporting funding for these shows

IMG_6114.JPG

i have definately been missing the comeraderie of knitting with others. so, until i can find just the right stitch-n-bitch to join, at least i can get my knit on with others over the airwaves....

ballot casted

my voting location is at the end of this street.

IMG_6094.JPG

here at the northampton senior center there were no lines, although there were quite a lot of people inside...

IMG_6095.JPG

i am so stoked to be taking part in all of this that i had to take a shot of me casting my vote.
IMG_6097.JPG

you can't really see the names but they read OBAMA/BIDEN.
IMG_6098.JPG

after feeding my ballot into the electronic counter, i emerged into bake and book sale madness!!! i wished i'd brought money when i saw those homemade doughnuts..... (11.20.08-the senior center has been closed until roof repairs can be made. this is only like 2 weeks after all these people were inside this brand new structurally unsound building....i'm so stoked no one was hurt...)

tully o'reilly shriners' fundraiser

here are the pictures from the shriners' fundraiser.

IMG_6081.JPG

even though this comment has nothing to do with all the great work the shriners do for children and more, and why they should have funds raised on their behalf, i just GOTTA TELL YA how much i love the "no malicious cannonballing" sign.....it says so much about childhood summers....

IMG_6085.JPG

it was not only i who was in high spirits; it looks like sporty signed up too, doesn't it?
IMG_6087.JPG

this guy, who's playing electric mandolin in that first picture, which, admittedly is blurry, is apparently someone who used to babysit for me when i was but a wee little thing.....
IMG_6088.JPG

here's sporty and chuck. as you can clearly see, sporty has surpassed my high spirits into another realm...
IMG_6091.JPG

chuck is smiling on behalf of the joy of all shriners at the success of this fundraiser. i think they were wise to sell cornbeef sandwhiches....i know i don't eat them, but apparently i was the only one...
IMG_6092.JPG

tully in the midst of it all...
and we leave you with czeuls, since i went home mere seconds after this shot was taken......
