the man himself came a-knockin' on my hamp door!!!
although a mere 14 hours didn't seem like quite a long enough stay, i was super happy with the visit!!! sean, neil and i have seen all the harry potter movies together in the theater. neil and i went to see order of the pheonix together when he came to visit, which happened to be opening weekend.
sean and i watched it the weekend it was released on dvd!!!
there we can see seanie appreciating the new flannel sheets i got for the guest room!
or maybe it's here we can see seanie appreciating the sheets so much, he doesn't even wanna wake up for tessy!
we spent the afternoon doing a little downtown northampton shopping, which you can see makes sean wanna dance!!!
before either of us knew what had happened, our visit came to an end. however, i wouldn't let him go until he posed in front of my christmas tree.
i really miss my friends who live in the sfbay area!!!!! and sean, i wicked appreciate the fact that you took the time to come and visit me!!!!

RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER or, how little woodland creatures will save us all at christmastime!
(*please note that the will farrell character in elf, buddy, is sporting the suit of a manager elf, NOT a worker elf....i think they call that taking liberties!!!)
anywho, i've been talking about primarily the same themes each year....with rudolph in particular, how it's so unfair that he had to wear the fake nose
and about how unfair it was to treat him so badly for something he really had no control over
and how lucky it is when misfits can befriend one another and provide encouragement and support
THIS YEAR i'm all overtaken with a new question:
why is it that all these christmas specials, with the exception of the charlie brown specials, have this thing about how the small woodland animals will save us all?
and why is it only at christmas time?

THE FIRST NOR-EASTER!
i have a feeling it's gonna be a white christmas!!!
i have to confess, i seem to struggle more with the hot, humid summers than i do the snowy, frozen winters....
if my archives serve me correctly, it snowed for the first time last year on december 4th, but by january 6th, it was 60something degrees out....
so maybe i should get through all of what i anticipate to be a more "usual" new england winter, before the report goes out, as they say...
also, abc re-broadcast merry christmas charlie brown, which just made the whole day seem perfect!!!
