i saw the white house christmas tree

IMG_4117.JPG
i was in line at the light, and this HUGE convoy was going by. it took me a little too long to figure out that it was the christmas tree for the white house en route from vermont. it also took a wee bit too longer to dig out my camera to take a pict. but what i'm trying to show with what i did catch, is the back of the last truck of the convoy. they took the tree up to the vets hospital (i think) as some kind of honorary thing, then it was off to another stop of the tour i suppose....

gratuitous cute shot of tessikins.

You know how I'm kind of a grinch, but I surprised/scared myself on Saturday. First, I was on my weekly visit to Homo Depot and I ALMOST bought a wreath for the front door, but needles showered down off each one I lifted from the bins, so I thought, "forget it". Then, in the plant section I found some rosemary topiary trees and some miniature live trees that I kind of liked. Since the choice tree would have to live to spring so it could be planted in the ground, I was not sure I could keep one alive, and because I couldn't quite decide between them, I pressed on with my purpose there - to get sanding disks and joint compound. That night, Jay came over and I was so totally busted! He caught me (after a hearty, dirty Belvedere vodka martini, extremely shaken to get some tiny floating ice-crystals and 4 giant pimento olives) listening to my xmas mix of "alternative" and techno remix versions of songs, loudly. Because the music was loud, I didn't hear him come into the thing I call house. Something is happening to me. The xmas spirit in me might not be dead or gone, but I might just need to get to the mall to beat it back down for another season, quickly.

My parents sent me a wreath (out of some coincidence) and I hung it on the front door, outside. I would like to have it inside so I can huff the evergreen scent.
