biechup blurbcat continues....

yes, you DO see a 6AM posting time. even though most of my unemployed body is willing to sleep until about 6:30-7, my bladder is completely used to the 5AM wake-up call. i mean, i can't blame it, i do a thing a couple of years and i feel attachment. my poor bladder's been getting drained at roughly the same time since 1993. geez...that's a loooooong time; i guess i can understand why it's all going down, even though i'd really like to be sleeping until 6:30 or 7... well, i've been going with the flow the past couple of days anyway. maybe i've already developed that sitch where i can't drink any liquids for at least two hours before bed...but i digress....back to the blurbchat

on the day before my last day at CAL, they threw me a pahrtay

IMG_1693.JPG

(that's moira standing there; others will be revealed further on...)

there were lots of people at the party, which of course i like! (everyone's listed from left to right)

IMG_1695.JPG

maria, laurie, sabrina, gina, and sandy

IMG_1696.JPG

paul, megan, julianne, and erin

IMG_1697.JPG

linda, monette, kirsten, and barbara

IMG_1698.JPG

stuart, betsy, chris, and michael

IMG_1699.JPG

oh, and me!, i was definately there!

IMG_1701.JPG

ariana was there, too!

IMG_1705.JPG

and so was bob!

IMG_1707.JPG

and so were angela and carmen, who even came over from next door(can you believe i'm already forgetting the names of buidings on the campus where i've spent the past 6.5 years of my life?!?!?!?) there they are hiding between chris and linda. oh, and to the left of chris is shaya. gina and shaya helped put the party together with stuart. THANKS GUYS!
oh, and can i just mention, no one escapes my camera good thing i'm not evil papparazzi...

there was a cake
IMG_1694.JPG

(yes it's for ME! megan's a freshman who just got the workstudy job in our office last semester; she can't leave yet)
it was a most delicious chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting; i regret leaving my piece behind in the little fridge in grad admissions....this is what i used as justification for buying that madeline pan...wait...i'll tell you about that later

IMG_1700.JPG

there was a michael sacramento original good-bye white board (that "new" face to the right is carol)

IMG_1706.JPG

and there were "speeches"

IMG_1704.JPG

and there were gifts in huge bags (which REALLY came in handy when the strap to my book bag broke about half an hour after i left-aka-on my way to piedmont-then-home)

and little envelopes that packed big punches
IMG_1708.JPG

along with a picture that includes solomon (i hope things are going really well for you in taiwan!)

and getting those last few good-byes
IMG_1702.JPG

like with barb here

as well as learning that some folks don't like to be blogged
IMG_1703.JPG

i've edited one of the two faces; you can still kinda see jacob off to the right there....

here i am the morning of my last day as an employee at CAL
IMG_1714.JPG

i made sure to wear all my most favorite clothes!

and i celebrated afterwards in true guettagirl fashion
IMG_1715.JPG

i started making up the CHAMBER OF SECRETS lego set!

IMG_1716.JPG

geewillikers i love the sound of those little plastic bricks jingling around in their numbered bags
IMG_1717.JPG

on sunday i went into the park for a walk. i think golden gate park is the most beautiful public park i've ever had the pleasure to interact with (this would include boston, nyc, & paris; although central park DOES have that glorious dancing animal clock, you never feel quite as lost in central park as you can feel in golden gate park)
IMG_1718.JPG

a little artsy picture
IMG_1719.JPG

and these folks; there were actually two groups of them. this group were dressed in the figure skating costumes, and what's difficult to see(and why i didn't take another picture i simply do.not.know.) is the american and olympic flags trailing amongst them. the other group had the speed skater costumes on with rollerblades whilest flying their flags....what i wanna know is this: are these actors or actual atheletes who are promoting this year's winter olympics? cuz, if it's the athletes, i guess i understand the idea of getting people excited by exhibiting some of the actual folks who're gonna be there...but if it's actors; well that just seems downright fraudulent...

yesterday i took a walk downtown to the central sf post office. it's pretty down there in it's own way
IMG_1721.JPG

another guettagirl original, thankyouverymuch.
and, finally, without further ado, one of the more heavily justified kitchen tools i've purchased in recent years
IMG_1723.JPG

yes, the mini-madeline pan...hopefully, after all the museum touring i'm doing with neil today (first tuesday of the month!) i'll still have the energy to give this baby a test-drive!

and that's it. i'm now all caught up

oh yay, they gave you a nice send-off. in honor of, i wore my Cal t-shirt at the supermahket on Sunday. There was a woman wearing a big gravity defying black furry winter (I want to say like what fancy Russian ladies wear) hat the size and shape of a small tire on her head. So, I'm completely zoning on her hat thinking, "wtf is this about?" because it was pouring outside, and she asks me if I went to UC Berkeley. Whoa! I'm off-guard. Of course, I didn't. She is a grad and does interview for Boston-area peeps and she never sees the Cal shirt around heah. you get to finally enjoy all of your time now! blog on...
