i'm baaaaack!!!
ok, so i'm back from my trip eastside, but i'm a bit overwhelmed at the moment. thanks to the ever-amazing mr. a.skirvin, i'm on a whole new OS here at home, and there IS a learning curve. i kinda didn't think it would be that big a deal, but i'm having a wicked hard time finding all my pictures using the new iphoto thing. i'm gonna show you one shot for now, but i have more coming down the line.

i'm doin' good, i hope you're doin' good too! lemme know what's goin' on for all hallow's eve yo!

the retreat
yesterday our office went on retreat for the afternoon. we went to this banquet place near the berkeley marina called HIS LORDSHIPS. we had a buffet-style lunch, and then discussed a game plan for the upcoming cycle(as well as the future of the office in general). it was a really neat idea, totally rad of stuart to get it for us, and i'm glad the office had it before i took my vacation. i think we came up with some great ideas!
near the end of our meeting, all these sailing-type crafts kept wooshing by the window. the sail boat came particularly close, and at one point(not the point i shot) we thought they would hit the building...

there were also summa these "kite boarders"(again, i missed the shot where dude was like 10 feet off the water)

*i'm feeling really yukky today though. i hope i'm not coming down with another friggin' cold.

what a blur
today i have a rag tag crue of picts to tickle your eyeball's fancy. i must admit that i'm very distracted as of late, and therefor am thinking of the camera after-the-fact in many cases. what's distracting me you ask? well, my vacation from my job, for one. i will be headed east-side for a bit, and will not be blogging from there(no computer; if i can put something up from ted's house when i'm there, that'll be the only shot i have at using a computer to upload stuff. i'll be checking email sporadically.) i'm suffering from a wicked case of burnout, and will be doing my best to manage stumbling accross the finishline of work. so i'm a little pre-occupied with all that, especially b/c i just pulled out the suitcase yesterday, and now have to fill it.
but i'll bet you're more interested in the picts that i did manage to take than you are my existential angst. friday morning, when i went to check the weather, i found this on sesame street

yup-yup, that's R.E.M. singing shiney, happy, monsters every_where...
saturday was a big blur to me. i had a buncha little errands to do, some of which was to get some groceries that nabila's doesn't normally stock. when was around haight and buchanan, i saw what is like a perfect example of san francisco weather, only the picture didn't come out as good as real life...

the red line indicates the fog line, of course..... it was incredibly sunny on the left side of this house, while to the back of the right side of the house, you can see the fog encasing vista park. it was a dark fog too, like a is-it-rain-or-is-it-fog kinda fog...all in the same pict; that's san francisco weather...
the reason i left to go to the store was b/c i had a couple of people over for dinner. i thought i was keeping it simple, but when i actually got into it, i found myself saying, "you know, if'n i'da started this sooner, this woulda been a wicked simple dinner to make. why'd i wait 'til 6 to start this bitch?" instead of doing a lot of hanging out with my guests watching this

aside from this NEW SOX MONDAY shot of isaac in his spb sox

the only hang-out shot i got was of the guys

i'm sure joel will be stoked i got a shot of him enjoying a pretzel...although they were very good pretzels.
the ladies kicked major ass, and made a huge dent in the clean up. (pssst....eva! i won't forget this generous deed!!!) why is it that this is the only shot i got of the ladies? although, lisa looks like she's about to kick some serious ass...

well, that's because she is! she and isaac brought what they claimed to be the most conservative chocolate cake from DeLessio bakery...

the thing was outta control, and apparently we were too

so, once i put all my guests into a border-line diabetic food coma, they went home...except for joel, who hung around to watch some BLACK ADDER with me.

on sunday i watched this sally fields/kevin klein movie called soapdish

it was quite silly, and extremely 80's and just what the doctor ordered for the knitting....ah, yes, i knit some on saturday(that and new yankee workshop are a big reason i got my late start on dinner), but most of my knitting happened yesterday.

this is where i am on the fronts. considering i still have to assemble the sucker, knit both button bands, and the knit the collar, i don't think i'm gonna have this to wear home on friday. it's looking more and more like i will be finishing it while eastside.
you may have also noticed that the fronts are the same color as the rest of the sweater, despite the fact that i showed you a swatch of something else, which i said i was going to use for the fronts...well, i decided i wanted the sweater to be in this yarn, and i'll do the collar in that suede yarn(which should look rad), and hopefully i'll find the last ball of candy blue cotton ease at michael's in hadley. hey, stranger things have happened!
later on in the afternoon, nathalie and damon came over

they brought me a lovely little brown paper bag of yogurt covered peanuts...

which i consumed to the point of feeling sick while at the movies. we went to see SERENITY!!! i loved it! i especially like how each character has their moments, most of them being multiple moments, throughout the film. it seemed like everyone else(three more folks met us at the film) enjoyed it too. i must also say i saw the new harry potter trailer!!!!! dude, i am so stoked for this movie. i really hope this one is released on the imax as well. NOVEMBER 18TH!!!! and i don't mean to diminish from SERENITY. i mean, after all, you can't stop the signal...
